Founded by John Mackay in 1884, operating a network of telegraph cables through the 1920’s, Mackay has demonstrated a consistent pattern of growth. In 1925, Mackay expanded into land and shipboard radio communications; being acquired by ITT in 1940 until 1987. Mackay, now a privately held firm is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA and has several strategic locations to serve you.

Since its inception, Mackay has been on the forefront of the communications and marine equipment industry. We are committed to delivering commercial and governmental mariners and offshore customers with a comprehensive line of high quality electronic navigation, below-decks and communications equipment complete with satellite airtime.

Our Mackay World Service Division offers responsive equipment service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, coordinating service at appropriate U.S. ports or arranging repairs through one of 90+ international agencies in order to keep vessels operating in the most expeditious timeframe. Periodic required inspections, certifications service and maintenance contracts that include consolidated equipment repair review, are also available.

We have extended our expertise in marine satellite communications, to address the needs of land-based commercial and government agencies with remote mobile communications needs for data, voice and video transmission that is reliable, secure and consistent. With today's technology, we are able to offer small lightweight, portable equipment that allows the user to communicate from virtually anywhere in the world at affordable airtime rates. Mackay also staffs a technical team that addresses customer’s network applications requirements.
