The Explorer 727, is the first true BGAN-X Land Vehicular terminal; enabling continuous communication, anytime and anywhere in the world. The 727 offers a breadth of features including a shared data speed to 432 kbps (guaranteed streaming performance to 256 kbps), access to phone networks and the Internet while you’re “on the move”. The antenna is constantly tracking Inmarsat satellite positions, providing you high speed, seamless broadband connection at all times. The EXPLORER 727 Beta test site results from around the globe document unparalleled terminal performance with its robust, reliable, ease-of-use and durable design. The roof-mounted antenna will connect you, regardless of adverse weather conditions or whether the vehicle is stationary or moving. The key differences between the new generation EXPLORER 727 and the original vehicular BGAN (EXPLORER 527) are the Power over Ethernet (PoE), a built in SIP Server, ISDN Interface and the ability to remote the antenna up to 300 feet from the terminal. The PoE capability enables other applications (i.e., wireless hot spots, cameras and RFID) that can be charged directly from the terminal without need for external power. Included in the box is an IP handset for voice services and enables one to configure and control the EXPLORER 727 without your PC.
