In November, 2007 Thrane & Thrane awarded Mackay’s Chesapeake, VA location as Thrane’s Regional Workshop (RWS) for the “Americas”. Mackay Communications was selected out of a pool of seven competing North and South American companies. Mackay is one of the few Thrane Certified Partners appointed for both satellite equipment sales and exclusive regional service. Thrane’s RWS service network, successfully operating since 2000, is comprised of seven (7) service workshops world-wide. The concept was designed to provide Thrane & Thrane’s customers with well-equipped, reliable and professional diagnostic and repair centers in proximity to their customer base. For those marine electronics that can only be repaired “on-location”, Thrane offers its Onboard Service Centers (OSC). Mackay Communications is authorized to provide both land-based (exclusive RWS) for the entire Americas region and “at-sea” equipment service (OSC) for North America. Mackay is committed to providing quality rapid repair service at its RWS Americas facility. To accomplish this, Mackay has invested in three dedicated technicians, $250K parts inventory (repair and sales), guarantees 48 hour turnaround, reduced shipping expenses and 6 month warranty on repairs and rebates for return customers.
