Marine Service Technician – International Assignment for US Passport Holder

Mackay has opening for an experienced Marine Service Technician (MST) with a USA Passport to work internationally in either Guam or Japan on an indefinite assignment. 

Marine Service Technician Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Technician (MST) will install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on-board commercial and naval ships. The technician will test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, and antennas as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. The MST will utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. The MST will make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and upon completion, compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Technician Minimum Requirements

  • Must have valid USA Passport.
  • 3+ years of recent experience as a Marine Service Technician, Marine Service Engineer, or Marine Electronics Technician in commercial shipping and/or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
  • Associate degree or equivalent training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 20–40 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required.
