Mackay currently has an opening for skilled and experienced Marine Automation Technician for our location in Mumbai, India.

Marine Automation Technician Job Description:

The Marine Automation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all instruments and control systems onboard ships and rigs. This position performs highly skilled work in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjusting, installation, and removal of all electronic/pneumatic equipment and systems.

  1. Works with automation team to define and safely implement field automation solutions.
  2. Able to work on new automation projects; including the installation and troubleshooting of automation equipment and systems.
  3. Proven to be self-motivated with the ability to originate and adapt to new ideas.
  4. Proven ability to work with limited supervision.

Marine Automation Technician Experience Requirements:

  1. 4+ years of experience working on offshore rigs or on ship automation.
  2. Experience with PLC and HMI (Scada Pack, Allen Bradley), transmitters (1-5v, 4-20mA, Rosemount, Wika, etc.), and with pneumatic actuators and positioners.

Marine Automation Technician Education/Work Requirements:

  • Completed Higher Education, preferably with Instrumentation Degree
  • Willing to work 40 – 60 hours per week and be available for shipboard and offshore attendance.
  • Intense focus on ensuring a safe working environment at all times
  • Frequent travel at short notice will be required.
