Bench or Engine Room Technician – New Orleans

Mackay Marine currently has an opening for an experienced in-office Engine Room Technician, also referred to as a Bench Technician, with the skills and qualifications listed below for our New Orleans, LA depot.

Engine Room Technician Job Summary:

The Engine Room (or Bench) Technician will work onsite in our New Orleans depot and is responsible for conducting calibrations and/or repair of Deckma products, issuing certificates, and entering the details of all work performed.  In addition, the technician will assist as needed with customer service, inventory, and shipping & receiving,

Responsibilities:

• Conduct 15ppm bench calibrations and issue certificates.
• Troubleshoot and repair 15ppm computer units.
• Enter Sales Orders in Solomon
• Assist with tracking customer swap stock.
• Assist with processing factory repairs.
• Assist with Engine Room inventory.
• Assist Engine Room Inside Sales staff as required.
• Other duties upon request.

Engine Room Technician Qualifications Required:

• Associates degree in electronics or equivalent training and/or certificates.
• Must have verifiable basic understanding of electronics.
• Mechanical knowledge would be a plus, but not required.
• 3+ Years of Bench or Engine Room Technician experience in the commercial shipping industry.
• Customer service and inventory experience would be a plus.
• Must be confident, highly motivated, a team player with great attention to detail.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
