Marine Automation Technician – India

Mackay currently has an opening for an experienced Marine Automation Technician in our Mumbai, India location.

Marine Automation Technician Job Summary:

The Marine Automation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all instruments and control systems on-board ships and rigs. The Marine Automation Technician performs highly skilled work in the inspection, calibration, repair, testing, adjusting, installation, and removal of all electronic/pneumatic equipment and systems.

Marine Automation Technician Responsibilities:

1. Works with automation team to define and implement field automation solutions.
2. Work on new automation projects; including the installation and troubleshooting of automation equipment and systems.
3. Self-motivated with the ability to originate and adapt to new ideas.
4. Proven ability to work with limited supervision.

Marine Automation Technician Required Qualifications:

1. Experience with PLC and HMI (Scada Pack, Allen Bradley), transmitters (1-5v, 4-20mA, Rosemount, Wika, etc.), and with pneumatic actuators and positioners.
2. 3+ years of experience working on offshore rigs or on ship automation.
3. Completion of Higher Education, preferably with Instrumentation Degree
4. Willing to work 40-60 hours per week and be available for shipboard and offshore attendance.
5. Intense focus on ensuring a safe working environment.
6. Frequent travel at short notice may be required.
