Marine Electronics Technician Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, Marine Electronics Technicians (MET) install, service, and repair marine electronic equipment on-board commercial and naval ships, yachts, and pleasure craft. They test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software. Marine Electronics Technicians utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems as well as to make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of each job, the technician will compose and remit a detailed service report.
