Description: Under limited supervision, the technician will install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board ships. The incumbent will test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas. They will load, update, and modify software. Incumbents will use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. They will make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completing the assignment, the technician will compose a detailed service report.

  • Autopilots
  • Sounders


  • A University degree in electrical engineering , or equivalent technical certificates
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • PC proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application
  • GMDSS license desirable.
  • Physical fitness — Work environment often involves carrying 10-20 kilograms, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.

Must be authorized to work in China without company sponsorship.
