Marine Service Engineer – Istanbul

Mackay Marine is currently seeking an experienced Marine Service Engineer (MSE) with the skills and qualifications outlined below in our Istanbul depot..

Marine Service Engineer Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Engineer (MSE), also referred to as a ‘technician’ or ‘MST’, will install, service, and repair electronic navigation and communication equipment onboard ships. MSE will test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, as well as loading, updating, and modifying software. The technician will use his/her knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory, and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of each service job, the MSE will compose a detailed service report and when not onboard a ship, will assist with office operations related to field/service work.

Marine Service Engineer Qualifications:

  • Must reside and be authorized to work in Turkey.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read English.
  • 3+ Years of experience as a Marine Service Engineer in the commercial shipping industry.
  • Diploma in Electronics or equivalent technical education, training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying or lifting 23 kilograms, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
  • Driver’s License – Class B and B1
