Marine Service Engineer – PRC

Mackay is seeking experienced Marine Service Engineers in all main ports of China (Tianjin, Dalian Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Guangzhou, Guangxi, and Xiamen). 

Marine Service Engineer Overview:

Under limited supervision, Marine Service Engineers (MSE), also referred to as ‘Technicians’, install, service, and repair marine navigation and communication equipment on-board commercial and military ships. MSE’s test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as loading, updating, and modifying software. Technicians use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. They also make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completing the assignment, the technician will compose a detailed service report.

• Gyrocompasses
• Autopilots
• Sounders

Qualifications:

• 3+ Years of experience as a MST in the commercial shipping industry.
• Possess a University degree in electrical engineering , or equivalent technical certificates
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application
• GMDSS license desirable.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Physically Fit – Work environment often involves carrying 10-20 kilograms, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
