Marine Service Engineer – Singapore

Mackay currently as several openings for local and experienced Marine Service Engineers (MSE) with the skills and qualifications below in our Singapore location.

Marine Service Engineer Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Engineer, hereinafter referred to as ‘technician’ or ‘MSE’, will install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board ships. MSEs test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as to load, update, and modify software as well as using their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory, and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems. Marine Service Engineers make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and upon completion, compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Engineer Qualifications:

  • Must reside and authorized to work in Singapore.
  • 3+ Years of experience as a MSE in the commercial shipping industry.
  • Diploma in Electronics or equivalent technical education, training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement and GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred.
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying or lifting 23 kilograms, climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
  • Driver’s License – Class 3
