Technical Service Coordinator – Houston, TX

Mackay is currently seeking an experienced Technical Service Coordinator with the skills and qualifications outlined below, to join our Houston depot in Deer Park, TX.

Technical Service Coordinator Job Overview:

The Technical Service Coordinator (TSC) is responsible is responsible for answering phones, emails, faxes, and provides the best customer service possible.  The TSC will enter service orders in the company’s ERB system, lay out the job board, and assist the Service Supervisor in dispatching Marine Service Engineers with the knowledge of services required as well as the equipment and parts needed to repair marine electronic equipment on-board vessels.  If needed, the Technical Service Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Service Supervisor or Marine Service Engineer(s) in diagnosing equipment problems to determine what parts need to be ordered. The TXC communicates with all key parties throughout the service experience and diligently helps to resolve any disputes.

Technical Service Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Answers the telephone, emails, faxes, and promptly responds to service requests and related matters accordingly.
  • Assist Service Supervisor with quotes and final invoicing.
  • Generates service call IDs in company database.
  • Coordinates service and posts jobs on the service board
  • Tracks the movement of vessels
  • Calls Agents to check on vessel movements
  • Sends completion reports to customers
  • Interfaces with the Parts Department
  • Enter jobs into the company database

Technical Service Coordinator Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in electronics or communications preferred or equivalent training and experience.
  • 3+ Years’ experience of technical knowledge of servicing marine electronics.
  • 3+ Years of Service Coordination experience in the maritime sector.
  • Familiarity with marine electronic equipment manufacturers and their current models of equipment is required.
  • Exceptional client service mentality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
