Mackay currently has an opening for an experienced Marine Electronics Technician (MET) with the skills and qualifications below for our location in Richmond, CA.

Marine Electronics Technician Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) will install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board ships. Test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas, as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. METs utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems in addition to making intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of the assignment, the MET will compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Technician Qualifications:

• 3+ Years of experience as a Marine Electronics Technician in the commercial shipping industry or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
• Associate Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
• GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred
• Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.
• Must be available to work weekends if needed.
