Marine Service Engineer – Antwerp

Mackay is currently seeking an experienced Marine Service Engineer, with the skills and qualifications below, and who is proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English for our Antwerp, Belgium location.

Marine Service Engineer Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, Marine Service Engineers (aka Marine Service Technician) install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board commercial ships. They test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software.  Marine Service Engineers use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Engineer Qualifications:

  • A University degree preferred or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Marine Service Engineer or Marine Electronics Technician in   commercial shipping.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
  • GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 10-23 kg., climbing ladders/masts, and exposure to weather.
  • Must have a valid passport, driver’s license and reliable transportation.
