Mackay Marine is currently seeking an experienced Marine Service Technician, who is proficient in English and with the skills and qualifications below for our location in Mumbai, India. (TJD)

Marine Service Technician Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Technician (MST) install, service, and repairs electronic navigation and communication equipment on board commercial ships. MSTs test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software.  Marine Service Technicians use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments and upon completion, compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Technician Qualifications:

  • A University degree or equivalent technical certifications.
  • 3 years of experience as a MST, MET, or MSE in commercial shipping.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
  • Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
  • GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred
  • Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 9-14 kg., climbing ladders/masts, and exposure to weather.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
