The Furuno FM-8900S VHF is a semi-duplex 25-Watt VHF Radiotelephone with integrated Class-A DSC and CH70 Watch Receiver.

Features include a high-contrast 4.3″ bright color LCD, improved speaker & noise reduction, dual mode channel selection and ready-access CH16 key, plus useful Reply function to retrieve 120 seconds of the latest message.  Interfaced GPS receiver provides auto-entry of ship’s time & position.  Option to connect the FM8900S to shore-based office or home via PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).

The FM8900S fully complies with GMDSS carriage requirements for SOLAS ships and new ITU recommendation on digital selective calling system when utilizing Maritime Mobile Service, ITU-R M.493-13.  ATIS signal transmission available for inland waterways.
