The Wärtsilä Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS (previously Transas) is a navigation system displaying full positional information from navigation sensors on electronic charts, to assist the officer-in-charge in route planning and monitoring.

Several system packages available to match user requirements; all benefiting from advanced technology. The Standard & Standard+, are entry-level systems, meeting all IMO and SOLAS ECDIS regulations. The Premium & Premium+ models provide more integrated functionality and features, with enhanced displays and navigational chart software. Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS Multi-function Display (MFD) is a flexible and redundant solution. It’s workstation (WS) can be equipped with a standard software set (ECDIS, Radar, Conning, Chart Assistant utility and SPOS weather modules) which enables flexibility to easily switch between applications.

ECDIS is a computer-based navigation information system compliant with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations and can be used as an alternative to paper nautical charts. A system displays the information from electronic navigational charts (ENC) and integrates position information from the Global Positioning System (GPS) and other navigational sensors, such as radar and automatic identification systems (AIS). Wärtsilä delivers a full range of type-approved ECDIS solutions customized according to the customer’s requirements.

The Wärtsilä NS4000 ECDIS is designed in full compliance with the latest IMO, IHO and IEC standards and resolutions. The Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS is a navigation information system that displays information from navigation sensors on the electronic navigational chart. The system is designed to assist the mariner in route planning and monitoring. The combination of all data on a single display allows for a high level of situational awareness and onboard decision making. Using a Standalone ECDIS requires a full paper chart collection in use as a backup arrangement to fulfill the carriage requirements.

Fully certified for current regulations and into 2029+, Navi-Sailor offers a flexible track for the future S-100 upgrades that won’t require you to replace the hardware. The current models are fully S-100 ready, enabling a seamless future upgrade to the next-generation Navi-Sailor S100 platform.
