Fraudulent Email and Banking Communications Alert – August 2026

Recently, Mackay has received reports of fraudulent emails with actionable notifications, using Mackay Communications’ name. These emails originate from domains and email addresses similar to mackaycomm.com and mackaymarine.com instructing the recipient to change banking information but are from fraudulent sources.

If you receive an unsolicited message appearing to be from Mackay Communications, please forward it to phishing@mackaycomm.com to verify the authenticity of the email.

Please be aware:

• We will never ask you to change payment or bank account details via email or phone call alone. Any legitimate request will be verified through your standard process (e.g., a phone call to a legitimate Mackay phone number you have on file, a signed letter, or secure portal).
• Verify before you act. If you receive any requests by email, phone, or letter to change payment details for invoices or transactions with us, please contact us IMMEDIATELY at +1 919-850-3000, OPTION 4.
• Watch out for lookalike domains. Scammers often use email addresses that closely resemble ours (e.g., substituting or transposing letters or using a similar domain).
• Be suspicious of urgent requests. Scammers often create a false sense of urgency to pressure quick action.
