The Fixed Piloting Unit from JRC-Alphatron Marine will house two GNSS receivers (AIS and UHF) in a sturdy enclosure. The stand alone unit will communicate through Wi-Fi with the pilot’s tablet and the software, using a unique unit ID which will provide the relevant navigation data. The main unit will feature a power switch and a visual indicator to switch off the equipment while sailing outside of the Panama Canal. The integrated UPS will have a hot standby, which allows it to always be charging. The Fixed Piloting Unit also provides the ability to connect with other navigation software.
