Inmarsat has announced the launch of its newest device, the IsatPhone 2, which combines the reliability of Inmarsat’s existing I-4 network with a fresh look and updated features. The new IsatPhone 2 is more rugged than the IsatPhone Pro, rating as dust-proof and jet-water-resistant. Service has been improved with fast acquisition time and the ability to receive calls and text messages with the antenna stowed.
The IsatPhone 2 also boasts new features such as SOS alerts and GPS tracking to locate the device on a map. Battery life is slightly improved, offering 8 hours of talk time and 160 hours on Standby. Charging is done via Micro-USB cable, meaning users may be able to carry fewer chargers for their devices, and Mackay has solar chargers available with the phones.
