Mackay proudly reports one of its newest entities, Mackay Brazil, quickly integrated itself as a mainstream marine service and electronics supplier, located in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

“Mackay fills a major gap in Brazil by stocking significant spare parts, accompanied by factory-trained Mackay technicians available for immediate deployment.  Mackay’s spares investment is focused on equipment which may detain a ship if not functioning properly,” President, Jeff Schlacks shared.

By hiring a seasoned Director (Andre Britto), Mackay was able to build a highly qualified staff, obtain special importation licenses, authorized by several equipment makers, and acquire several key accounts; resulting in significant revenue growth since opening in early 2017.

In a stunningly short period, Mackay Brazil achieved:

• Class-approval by Lloyds, ABS, DNV-GL, BV, RINA and KR (Annual GMDSS Radio Surveys)
• Certified for VDR/SVDR annual APT by Danelec Marine, Rutter, Netwave, and Highlander
• Awarded Anatel licensing to market satellite airtime, specifically the new Inmarsat Fleet Xpress I-5 VSAT service

In addition to the conventional maritime market, Mackay Brazil is targeting Brazil’s world-ranked offshore Oil and Gas Market.  Mackay Brazil’s team have an advantage of extensive technical and business expertise shared by their U.S. Mackay counterparts who have served Oil & Gas customers operating in the Gulf of Mexico for decades.
