The SAILOR 7200 GMDSS terminal from Cobham Satcom sets a new benchmark in maritime safety communications. Built after decades of innovation in maritime safety, this compact terminal, with its omni-directional antenna, delivers next-generation functionality for the Iridium GMDSS network. Providing essential GMDSS voice and data services via Iridium Certus® 100, the Sailor 7200 includes Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) and Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) in a single integrated platform.

With Global Reach and unmatched reliability, the SAILOR 7200 GMDSS delivers global coverage (including polar regions), ensuring safe and reliable communication wherever vessels operate. It supports real-time distress calling, messaging, and urgent data transmission. This combined with low-latency connectivity and robust service availability from Iridium’s unique LEO satellite constellation, it is ideally suited to today’s evolving regulatory and operational requirements.

The SAILOR 7200 GMDSS consists of three main units connected with a standard 50Ω RF cable to the antenna and standard ethernet to the Control Unit:
